Marketing vs Advertising

So often we use the words marketing and advertising interchangably, but they are NOT the same thing.  Generally it is agreed that advertising is the broadcasting of the message that your product or service exists.  We are here.  We exist.  Perhaps check us out.  But marketing is a targeted message aimed at your customer base, encouraging your potential customers to ACT.  Click here.  Join this group.  Try this product. 

When you are writing ads for your vacant apartment units, think about the difference between a message that tells the reader that a particular unit is available, versus a message that is honed to get the reader to go SEE the unit, or click on the link to see the pictures or visit your web site.
